Testimonials

Kyle was a dream to work with! Not only was his art absolutely amazing, but he was fun, collaborative, quick, and fantastic with communication and updates on progress. I cannot recommend him enough!
— Quinn Johnson | Comic Writer - Elders of the RuneStone
If you’re still contemplating or ‘on the fence’ about whether or not to work with Kyle, let me be the tie breaking vote because, based on my experience working with him on my own project, I cannot recommend him highly enough. He’s clearly an amazingly talented artist, one look at his work confirms that. But how he goes about his business? That’s what really blew me away. He’s punctual; he communicates well; he’s open to making whatever and however many changes you need done; and when he says he’s going to do something? He does it - which, as we all know, is an invaluable quality to find in someone. So, do yourself a favor: that project you want done? Just email Kyle and thank yourself later.
— Stephen F. Moloney - Fiction Author | Mustang
Working with Kyle has been a pleasure. Not only is Kyle an extremely talented illustrator with excellent composition skills, he communicates well and makes the entire process very simple. I was given updates from the sketch phase all the way until the project was complete, always knowing exactly what to expect. If you’re looking for a World-Class illustrator for your project, look no further than Kyle. 10/10!
— Neil Herrin | CEO, Vanilla Gaming Company
Kyle is epically talented, extremely attentive and incredibly eager to please. I approached Kyle with a unique and exciting concept project that required a very particular - not to mention peculiar - set of artistic skills. Kyle was excited by the challenge. He produced the work quickly, was receptive to feedback, took any constructive criticism cheerfully on the chin, and the final product exceeded all expectations. I’ve honestly never had a contract job go as smoothly as this. Five stars, would definitely work with Kyle again!
— Kevin Beimers | CEO/Creative Director, Italic Pig
Kyle has been a vital part to our team on creating The Invisible Night comic. He has taken upon himself to help organize our chats and follow up with the colorist and letterer. He also has helped give some of his professional opinions that have helped bring this comic book to the next level! He always had his pages in a timely manner and kept in touch along the process from rough sketches to pencils and inks. His work has been very top notch. Thanks for everything Kyle!
— Erik Larsen | Writer of The Invisible Night Comic
When you work with Kyle, you can expect nothing but quality art. With the artist himself being hardworking, talented, and easy to work with, you can rest assured knowing that your project is in good hands.
— Louis Southard | Art Director of Midnight & A Half Creative
I was referred to Kyle to create a business logo. Kyle was wonderful to work with! He is fast, very responsive, reasonable and his work is excellent. He took my vision and created exactly what I was looking for. I highly recommend him!
— Anne Marie Zukowski | Founder of Farmiture Chic

About Me

MY NAME IS Kyle Petchock

I’m a freelance illustrator living in the general Baltimore, Maryland area. I have worked on a wide variety of different projects over the last five years, including a surprise opportunity to become a freelance colorist for the Marvel’s licensing art department, in addition to comic projects that include a fantasy genre comic titled “Skylin”, published by Source Point Press, and other indie titles such as “Villains Seeking Hero”, a supervillain parody drama, and “Project Naosis”, a futuristic graphic novel that deals with the clash between superheroes and an extremist uprising. I’m currently doing work for several gaming companies which include Atomic Mass Gaming, Renegade Game Studios, and Fantasy Flight Games.

I started this freelance journey just over five years ago. However, this didn't happen overnight.  Breaking into the art world is no easy feat.  It requires years of practice, patience, and most importantly, Perseverance to push through challenges.  Always believe in yourself, because if you do, you'll take the inspired action required to move you one step closer toward your goal, even if they're baby steps (yes, those count too).

My personal mantra is 'Keep Persevering,' which also stands for my initials (KP).  More importantly, I use this motto to let aspiring artists know that even a normal guy who spent years battling anxiety behind closed doors and no formal art school education in comic illustration, can make it. There were plenty of external obstacles in my way early on in my art journey, but the most challenging struggle was wrestling with my own negative internal thoughts that sabotaged me from really pursing my dream as a comic artist much earlier in life.  So this has a special meaning behind it, in that if you keep going and pursue your dream with everything you have, in the face of rejection, disappointments, and setbacks, eventually you'll be rewarded.  That's when you prove to life just how bad you want it, and in doing so you pass the test.
